As Product Manager of educa grade management I am in frequent contact with customers and users, both for product demonstrations and onboarding. What I thought after I answered the same questions about our product in a demo for the umpteenth time: “Actually, I could just record it as a video”.
Said and done. And here came Mozaik as a video solution in the game!
Because for me, as a layman with little or no video knowledge, Mozaik is the ideal solution for simply creating learning videos that all come from a single source.
In my daily work, I spend a lot of time showing and explaining the same thing to different people over and over again. In demos, I answer the same questions about individual functions and in onboardings I introduce customers and the respective users to how to use the educa grade management system.
The content and answers are very similar in most cases. I don't need to tell anyone that this is neither efficient nor resource-wise feasible in the long term.
As an EdTech startup, we support companies and organizations in digitizing their education and knowledge management. Then we should be able to do it better ourselves!
The solution: videos
People process images 60,000 times faster than plain text information. We make use of this by recording and making available short learning videos on various topics.
Specifically, we use videos in two areas:
The plan is to ask as many questions as possible in advance based on FAQ videos to answer. This is intended to reduce inquiries and create more capacity for more complex questions and problems that cannot be easily answered with a video.
In addition to the FAQ videos on our website, we want to provide customers with further assistance so that they can find their way around the grade management as easily and independently as possible.
To do this, we prepare a handbook for each onboarding customer. The manual consists of 2-3 pages, contains a bit of text and is accompanied by Explanatory videos enriched. In contrast to the FAQ videos, these explanatory videos are tailored to the use case of the respective customer and created individually for each onboarding.
Would you like to know how you can implement your video ideas and achieve your video goals with Mozaik? Then let's talk!
In order to keep the hurdle for interested parties and users as low as possible, I have opted for so-called Learning Nuggets decided. Learning nuggets are short learning units, which convey a single statement. These learning units should be clear and understandable and, in the best case, further promote the person's interest.
Means: I need lots of short videos that look consistent and appealing.
That is why when choosing the right video solution, it was particularly important to me that
Mozaik seemed like a suitable solution for my project and after I quickly found my way around the platform, the creation process was super easy.
The learning videos are structured as follows:
What I find particularly practical is that I only use this video structure once as video template I need to create and can then use it for all video projects. As a result, the logo and our corporate color are already integrated and with the predefined text fields, I don't have to re-enter the same text every time.
And then it's time to actually create the video. I did this as follows:
With the help of the learning videos, we were able to significantly reduce the number of support requests regarding educa grade management and thus free up time and resources within the team so that we could focus on other topics.
In fact, 90% of questions are now answered by the FAQ videos and I can take better care of the remaining 10%. This was also very well received by the rest of the team and our customers.
This is how we were able to kill two birds with one stone:
Our next step: not only make the explanatory videos available in the onboarding manual PDF, but also integrate them directly on the platform. As soon as I have an update on this, I will report back!
